Mrs. Thouin's class and Cast A did an amazing job at the Winter Concert last night! Tonight we have Mrs. Depner's class and Cast B. Doors open at 6pm.

 Happy Star Wars day!  Today we finished our read-aloud novel "Heartwood Hotel 2: The Greatest Gift". Ask your child what they wrote when answering the questions "What was your favourite/least favourite part?" "Would you recommend this book?" "Who was your favourite character?" This book had a winter theme and there are two more books in the series- the next one we will read is set in the spring. The series is filled with interesting animal facts and messages about friendship and belonging.  Tomorrow is a PD Day, so we are wishing you all a happy weekend.

Over the next few weeks, your child will be learning about estimating, measuring, and comparing lengths using centimetres, metres, yards and inches. To reinforce the concepts your child is learning at school, you and your child can work on some at-home activities such as these: • Ask your child to show you how a fingertip can be used to estimate 1 centimeter or a hand span can be used to estimate 10 centimeters (1 decimeter). Use these known amounts to estimate lengths of objects with your child. • Your child has learned to estimate 1 meter using his or her steps. Have your child use a metre stick to measure the number of steps you take to travel 1 m. Then you and your child can use your “meter steps” to estimate distances around your home. Tomorrow is Fun Lunch. Students will eat in the classroom and then play outside. Thank you to all our volunteers that help make this possible.

  Please take a look around your house and make sure that you have returned all the Copperfield library books. Our librarian is busy collecting books and needs everything returned. Thanks for your cooperation.  Activity day is approaching. Thank you to all our volunteers that are making this day possible. Thank you to Parent Council for the freezies celebration at the end of the day.  A lot of school work came home today. Take a moment to review your child's important work. Have a great summer solstice.
