Mrs. Thouin's class and Cast A did an amazing job at the Winter Concert last night! Tonight we have Mrs. Depner's class and Cast B. Doors open at 6pm.

IMAT Skills

We are working on setting routines and expectations with the whole class, and it would beneficial  to discuss this at home too. Ask your child what it means to use your IMAT skills. IMAT skills are skills we use to solve problems between students. If someone is bothering you, try using your IMAT skills. I- Ignore. Ignore what the person is doing for 60 seconds. If they do not stop... M- Move away. Find a new spot to sit or play. If they follow you and the problem continues... A- Ask them to stop. They may be bothering you on purpose, or they may have thought it was a game and didn't know you didn't like it- now they know. If the problem continues... T- tell. Tell the teacher, supervisor, or other adult about the problem and they will help you solve it. Have a wonderful evening!

  Today we began our CBE Minecraft Challenge. We will be building and creating through Minecraft for Education and today we learned the basics; how to log on how to create our avatar how move around the arena how to enter creative mode how to access our inventory how to place and mine, build and destroy how to change settings Ask your child what they built today!  We will be using it in class throughout the year. Minecraft: Education Edition can also be installed and used at home if you choose, totally optional. It is a free download and instructions are available at this link:  Installation instructions for Minecraft: Education Edition Your child's login information is their student id number in this format: studentid@edu.cbe.ab.ca, and their password is the regular password they use to login to Google.  Example: 100018342@edu.cbe.ab.ca John123! Celebrate with us because we completed our science unit of rocks and minerals. Today we wrote our unit exam. Ask your child How are sedimentary rocks formed? Describe the rock cycle? What is weathering? What are the three types of rock? How are rocks used in our world? We spent time with our buddies. In Mrs. Thouin Buddy class we studied short vowel sound. In Mrs. Depner's buddy class we did a bar graph.  We had fun lunch. Thank you to our parent volunteers for your help.
